Figures from the shadows of history and myth.

OVERLORD – WW2 STL CAMPAIGN #1

Welcome to the first Chthonic Bearcult STL campaign!
The campaign marches into Europe, 1944.

This series of releases focus on a new line of US Ranger & Wermacht 28mm models.

This campaign is a low-barrier, easygoing way to explore STL-file releases. Once a campaign runs its course, a new one takes its place with a fresh theme and focus. Newsletter subscribers get discounted pricing every month, and the chance to get involved in developing the next release.

Heading into 1944 Europe

The first campaign drops us into Europe, 1944, following the late-war push after D-Day. Each release focuses on U.S. Rangers and German Infantry, capturing the gear and grit of squads fighting across Normandy and beyond.

The German Troops. The First Step

The campaign opens with the Late War German Infantry, sculpted in summer and fall gear – representing the soldiers who defended positions across Europe after D-Day.

German Squad 1 render

These are a continuation of my earlier German Pioneers, my first WWII sculpts that resonated with many of you. Those early models sculpted initially for only my own needs, inspired me to build a full release campaign for a more structured approach.

This time exploring both sides of the conflict in 28mm scale, with a focus on realism, grit, dynamic poses and detail.

This new squad expands that spirit: improved posing, sharper detail, easier printability, and the same balanced aesthetic between realistic and heroic proportions that works extremely well on the tabletop.

The U.S. Rangers. What’s Coming Next

Next up are the U.S. Rangers, representing the Allied side of the campaign.

The all new US Ranger models are the culmination of everything I’ve learned (so far) about sculpting for the 28mm scales where a delicate balance of detail, printability and playability dictates a lot of the choices a sculptor can make.

US 1:12 scale model teaser

The first previews of the Rangers will be shared very soon. The base sculpts are nearly complete, and once finalized, I’ll move on to developing the full miniatures for the campaign.

Together with the German defenders, these releases continue the story of 1944, one squad at a time.

The Campaign – How It Works

The Campaign will unfold one step at a time, with 1-2 units released each month Usually one for each nation.

tabletop tokens

Some older German support weapons will also see newsletter-only discount codes during the campaign to round out the German defender force.

A note: It might not always be possible to release two squads each month. Quality comes first, and some months may see only a single drop, but I am not going to artificially postpone a release if it’s done.

All campaign drops are public releases at full retail price, but Cvlt Dispatch subscribers get exclusive monthly discount codes to grab them at a reduced rate for the duration of the campaign month.
Each dispatch also includes a free bonus miniature and a preview of what’s coming next.

Once a campaign month ends, the files remain at regular retail price, and the next squad or unit begins its march.

Each release is pay-as-you-go – buy what you want.
Every purchase goes directly into sculpting time, test prints, and development for the next release.

All releases in this campaign will happen – your support just helps determine how quickly they come to life.

Bonus Minis & Extras

The first month’s bonus pose! Free for Cvlt Dispatch subscribers!

Every month’s campaign includes a free bonus miniature.
These will later become retail files, but for subscribers, they’re included at no cost.

It’s a small way to give back and make sure there’s always something extra for those who keep the campaign rolling.

Price Transparency

Every campaign runs with full transparency.
Each squad is listed at its final retail price.

Typical pricing looks like this:

  • Squad Retail Price: 10–15 € Depending on the amount of models
  • Campaign Discount (40%) for each new release
  • Bonus Miniature: free during the campaign period

Once the campaign window closes, the files go to their regular retail price.
You’ll always know what you’re paying, and where your support goes.

I don’t run other sales. I try to price my files fairly to begin with as I’m a hobbyist & gamer myself. You can think of this newsletter campaign format as a way to help fund the development of new models for your own enjoyment when purchasing during the campaign months at a reduced price.

You can use the discount codes on Cults3D and Gumroad.

Get Involved – Shape the Campaign

I love seeing how you print, paint, and bring these miniatures to life!

  • Share your prints, paint jobs, or tabletop games with the minis! If there’s engagement, I’d be happy to feature them on the blog or socials.
  • Vote in newsletter polls to help guide upcoming units, poses, or themes.

Your participation fuels both the current release and the miniatures yet to come.

The WWII Campaign is now live, starting with the German Infantry Squad.

Join the Cvlt Dispatch, grab your discount codes, and be part of the process.

See you in the next one.
